Eastside Connections School
To minimize disturbance to the educational environment, the following guidelines
have been set for student dress while attending.

Uniform Dress Code

  1. Navy blue or khaki pants (no jeans or sweat pants).
  2. Navy blue or khaki jumpers.
  3. Navy blue, white or navy blue button down dress shirts may be worn.
  4. Plain white or navy blue dress shirts may be worn.
  5. Plain white or navy blue (short or long sleeve) t-shirts may be worn under shirts.
  6. Navy blue, white or light yellow sweatshirts or cardigans may be worn over polo shirts (no hoodies).
  7. Appropriate shoes should be worn to school. For safety reasons, no flip-flops or slides should be worn and only sandals with straps across the heal will be allowed.
  8. Shorts, dresses or skirts must extend closer to the knee than the hip. The length must be a minimum of a hands width between the end of the short, dress or skirt and the top of the knee.
  9. Pants, skirts and shorts must be worn at the waistline.
  10. Yoga pants, leggings or sweatpants are not considered uniform pants. Ballet, tulle and sequin skirts are not considered uniform skirts. Leggings (white, navy blue or black) may be worn under jumpers or skirts. Holes above the knee on any type of pants are not considered uniform.

*The first Friday of the month will be Uniform Free Friday. Appropriate school clothing should be worn on Uniform Free Fridays of Spirit Wear Days.

**All other Fridays will be ECS spirit wear days. Along with jeans or casual bottoms, students are permitted to wear ECS or Niles logo'd tops. If a school or district logo'd item is not available, school colored (navy/gold) clothing items are acceptable as school spirit apparel.

***Cold weather. The students will go outside for a short period of time if the wind chill temperature is at least 10 degrees. Please make sure your child has a warm coat, hat, gloves/mittens, and boots when appropriate.

Uniform Free Day Dress Code

  1. Clothing, patches, buttons, jewelry, bags and any other personal items should be appropriate. Any item containing or depicting obscenity, profanity, weapons, ads for illegal substances, or symbols found to be offensive and/or disruptive to the educational environment, including but not limited to the Confederate flag, swastika and/or gang affiliations, are not acceptable.
  2. Jewelry or body adornments considered to be disruptive or dangerous are not acceptable.
  3. Revealing, sheer, strapless and/or low-cut clothing will not be allowed. All shirts, tank tops, and/or blouses must cover undergarments and the entire torso.
  4. Hats, sunglasses, and hoods cannot be worn inside the building. Headphones and/or earbuds may not be worn in the building.
  5. Shorts, pants, skirts, leggings, torn or altered clothes should cover all undergarments and the buttock and private areas should not be visible while standing, bending, sitting or laying down.
  6. Sagging pants riding below the waist that may expose skin or any garment worn under the pants are not allowed.
  7. Coats or lined jackets are to be left in lockers, not worn to class.
  8. Book bags, backpacks, purses, laptop bags, and duffels are to be left in lockers except for use in gym class only.
  9. Excessive make-up and/or face paint, costumes, or accessories that are distracting to instruction or unsafe are not allowed.
  10. Any other item or appearance deemed inappropriate by administration.
